Small businesses, cooperatives, and sole proprietors are the backbone of our local economy. They provide jobs, services, and creativity that make our communities vibrant places to live.
About the Bursaries
Each bursary provides $1,000 to support the growth and resilience of member businesses. This initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening local economic health and empowering members to thrive.
Who Can Apply?
Bursary applications are open to First Credit Union members who are small businesses, cooperatives, and registered sole proprietors.
Applications accepted from September 15 - 30, 2025.
What You'll Need to Submit
- Name, location, and proof of FCU membership
- A brief overview of your business/offerings and how the bursary will support your goals
- Recent achievements or examples of resilience, sustainability, or impact

In October, we’ll celebrate small business month and bursary recipients with events in the communities we serve. Join us for an evening of networking and celebrating. Open to all local small businesses and cooperatives, these events will feature brief words from our event partners, light refreshments, offer opportunities to celebrate and expand supportive networks.
